This 1954 Chevrolet Corvette is a remarkably preserved piece of American automotive history, representing the 3,261st of just 3,640 examples produced for the model year. Originally sold new by Kruse Chevrolet of Martinsville, Indiana, this C1's exceptional historical preservation was recognized in June 1988 when it was awarded the prestigious Bloomington Gold Survivor certification. Further cementing its rare pedigree, the car has been tucked away in long-term ownership since the early 1990s. The five-digit odometer shows just 56,000 original miles, a mere 3,000 of which have been gently added by its current owner over the last three decades.

The fiberglass bodywork is finished in classic Polo White, accented by a beige convertible top, a chrome grille, wire mesh headlight guards, and a three-piece rear bumper with dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear valance (note: there are no side curtains). It rides on 15” red-finished steel wheels with polished faux knock-off covers and 205/75 Custom 428 A/S whitewall tires, utilizing an independent front suspension and a live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs.

Inside, the iconic cockpit features a bold red vinyl dash pad, door panels, and seats. A white two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring frames a 140-mph speedometer, while a central 5,000-rpm tachometer is flanked by factory gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. Cabin appointments include a floor-mounted shifter, a signal-seeking AM radio, an analog clock, a heater, and polished sill guards.

Under the hood, the legendary 235ci “Blue Flame” inline-six engine features a correct light blue block, a triple Carter YH side-draft carburetor setup, and optional factory chrome valve and ignition covers. Rated at 155 horsepower and 223 lb-ft of torque, the engine is paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Accompanying the car are thick folders worth of extensive documentation dating back decades, fully supporting the low mileage, service history, and prestigious pedigree.

I have many more photos of this Corvette as well as the documenation that is included with it. Feel free to call or text to schedule a time to come check it out. Thank you for your interest.
